Project Description
Surge Counter/Surge Monitor for 6-330kV
General
Surge counter or surge monitor is a monitoring device for metal oxide surge arresters. It is integrated into the arrester ground connection and counts the surge arrester operating times that have occurred.
Surge Counter/Surge Monitor Classification:
1. JS-8 series Surge Counter
JS-8 series surge counter can record times of arrester’s action. It is made of high capability zinc oxide varistor block.
2. JCQ series Surge Monitor
JCQ series surge monitor is used to record arrester action times and leakage current.
1. Description
JCQ-2/800 surge monitor is a device connected in series under arrester to monitor leakage current and record the action times of arrester circuit.
The leakage current indicator counter of 2/800 arrester has 220 KV and the following arresters in power system; the leakage current indicator counter of 5/1800 arrester is used in power system of 500 KV and below.
The environmental conditions of all kinds of arresters are the same as those of connected arresters.
The digital display counting of the precise points of the surge arrester monitor, current pointer indication, vibration resistance.
2. Structure and performance
The monitor is mainly composed of signal input circuit, current measurement circuit, discharge counting circuit and protection circuit. Normally, the leakage current of the arrester is directly indicated by the ammeter. The measuring range is 42mA~5mA. The ammeter scales the operating area of the leakage current of the arrester with color scale, which greatly facilitates the user’s judgment. The operation status of the break arrester, in which:
Green: It means that the leakage current measured is within the normal working current range of the arrester and the arrester works normally.
Yellow: It means that the leakage current measured is not within the normal working current range of the arrester, and the line and arrester need to be recharged or replaced.
Note: If the range is beyond the green range, the counter grounding protection device will start to work and the corresponding reading will be less than the actual value.
When the leakage current exceeds the measurement range, the over-range indicator lights up.
When the lightning arrester moves, the number of discharges is recorded accumulatively by the counter. The counter adopts a three-dimensional electromagnetic counter, which automatically returns to zero after full degree, and the cycle counting work is not clear.
